2012 Memories List

It’s that time of year again. Time to reflect, refuel and get ready for 2013. Last year, I published the first annual edition of my memories list, here’s is number two.

2012 was kinda a scary year for me. I moved across the country from New Jersey to California (I know… I traded up!), started a new job and took some big risks in my personal life. Moving to California was something I’d dreamed of since I was a kid so I’m pretty proud of myself that I was able to achieve that dream!

Personal 2012 blogpostI jumped into California life head first and spent many hours hiking, bought a convertible and took my first surfing lesson. As much as I love my new state, I do miss my friends and family back in Canada and was thrilled to make a trip home to see them in August. Another first in August was a trip to Hawaii. Check out Julie Ziemelis and I doing hand stands on a beach in Kona. What a beautiful part of the world. If you haven’t visited you really should.

Running 2012I have to admit that living in the land of the beautiful people, bikinis and movie stars does add some pressure to be in shape. That, plus the appeal of spending as much time outside as possible has fueled a new fitness passion for me–running. I completed several races this year including a 10 k and two half marathons. I love the training runs along the beach and have enjoyed the competitive nature of racing, pushing myself to achieve better times and seeing improvements.

Work 2012 blogpost

In between my travel adventures and running I had to do a little work!  I was thrilled to join Atlantic & Pacific Real Estate in February. This is an exciting real estate company that is allowing me to capitalize on my existing strengths while growing in several new areas. With 1000 agents in 22 states there is lots to do.

Looking Forward to 2013

So what’s next for 2013? Honestly, in many areas of my life I don’t know. Here’s what I do know. I’m ready, I’m gonna work hard, I’ll have failures and I’ll have successes. My commitment to myself for 2013 is to be the best person I can be, stay positive and look for the opportunities.

Happy New Year!
